Whether it’s green beer or catching a bit of luck of the Irish, many people enjoy the shenanigans that happen each year around St. Patrick’s Day. It falls on Monday, March 17 this year with most of the celebrations taking place on Saturday, March 15.
There’s a St. Patty’s Block Party in Longview from 4-9 p.m. with food trucks, games, live music, and green beer at Oil Horse Brewing Co.
In the tiny town of Ben Wheeler the annual Barstool Races mesh with Green Go Grandes Birthday Bash for an all day party with live music, food, and Irish wrestlers.
Several events in McKinney for SPD include the McKinney Shamrock Run 5K that begins at 9 a.m. at Towne Lake Park and afterwards family-friendly festivities take place with green TUPPS beer and Irish music and dancing. The McKinney St. Patrick’s Day Beer Walk is a stroll with sipping and savoring through 20 stops in downtown McKinney, a vendor market, scavenger hunt, and breweries. St Paddy’s Shenanigans is a show at The Comedy Arena with four (like the lucky clover) stand-up comedians delivering their sets and then facing off in a rowdy Irish bar game.
In Tyler, ETX Brewing Hosts a St Patrick’s Day Celebration on March 15 and 16 with green beer, Irish menu, DJ music, and live bands.
The El Camino Real de Nacogdoches band is performing a St. Paddy’s Day Concert at the Stone Fort Museum in Nacogdoches with traditional music from Ireland as well as Texas. Also in Nac, the Fredonia Brewery is hosting St. Pat’s-ISH Celebration with Irish and green beer, chambers smokehouse, and live music.
