Tanglewood Resort in Pottsboro recently hired Andrew Martin as its new golf pro. A native of Honey Grove, Texas, between Bonham and Paris, Martin started enjoying the game of golf when he was six years old. His early start laid a solid foundation for a distinguished amateur career, highlighted by two regional high school competitions as a medalist and a district championship in his senior year. He played collegiate golf at Paris Junior College, where he also pursued a degree in Business Management.
Martin achieved a significant milestone in his career by becoming a Class B PGA Professional, a testament to his skill, dedication, and comprehensive understanding of the game. This accreditation not only bolstered his credentials as a golf pro but also enhanced his teaching capabilities, making him a valued member of any golf instruction team. In 2023, Martin turned professional, embarking on his career at Pine Ridge Golf Course under the mentorship of Cathy Harbin, a respected Master Professional.

Appointing Martin as golf pro signals an exciting chapter for Tanglewood’s golf instruction to elevate the experience of every member and guest through expert guidance and a genuine passion for the game of golf. Private lessons and group lessons are available. A thirty-minute private golf lesson costs $75 and a one-hour group lesson costs $50 per person.
