The Alliance for Texas History (ATxH) is registering attendees for their first annual conference taking place May 15-17 at Texas State University in San Marcos. The event features tours, special events, session speakers, and a host of exhibitors. Sessions for and by graduate students are also featured.
The ATxH was founded in March 2024 focusing on a “21st century approach to historical analysis, dialogue, and perspective.” Their mission is to foster a comprehensive understanding of the rich and diverse history of Texas. They include diverse groups of academic and avocational historians, local organizations and institutions, educators and public historians, archives and libraries, and anyone from the public interested in the pursuit of Texas history. The organization provides historical context for contemporary issues, helping individuals understand historical events’ relevance in shaping the present. They promote inclusivity by acknowledging and honoring the diverse cultures and ideas shaping Texas’ history including those made by women, and different races and ethnicities.
